Annual Golf Day 2019

ANNUAL GOLF DAY

It was great to welcome everyone to our 2nd annual golf day which took place at Rothley Park Golf Course on Friday 30th August 2019.

We welcomed customers, suppliers, family & friends on a lovely morning ready to take on the 18 hole Stableford competition. Everybody enjoyed bacon rolls and refreshments while getting to know one another and a quick welcome note from Laura & Matt to say thank you for working with us throughout the year.

Before they were ready to tee off, players had the chance to buy mulligans (this gave them a free ball if they were not playing to good, needless to say a few of them needed it!) & enter our September raffle with all the money raised being donated to Leicester Hospitals Charity and the Leicester Children’s Hospital Appeal.

TIME FOR TEE OFF

Everyone gathered in their 4 balls and were fuelled up ready so we all made our way to the 1st tee. 1st off were the boys from Zu Print plus & Top Gun Transport

The course looked great and first up was last years winner Adey, followed by Mick, Alan & Tez in the first 4 ball.

All players were playing to win the Stableford competition but there were also prizes for closest to the pin & the longest drive. These awards would be revealed in the winners presentation at the end of the day.

There were a few players who probably didn’t get off to the best start (last years winner Adey put it out of bounds twice of the first tee), however there were 18 holes to go and a lovely 4 hour walk around the course.

At 2:00pm the first 4 ball made their way to the green of the 18th hole followed by the rest of the teams. The players made their way of the course ready for a drinks in the clubhouse and a
well-earned sit down. There were a few smiles and equally a few annoyed faces which were greeted by laughs and some banter but all in good fun. People started to speculate about the winners while Laura & Matt checked the scores and let the banter and tension grow.

A few drinks later dinner was served in the club house which was fantastic and the club looked after everyone superbly well. Now with full stomachs and a beer in hand it was time for the winners presentation. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in the Stableford competition, nearest to the pin (hole 4), longest drive (hole 16) and the let’s call it “Donkey of the day” which im sure everyone wanted to win!
